Rafael "Rafy" Diaz was born on December 7, 2003 at 7:55pm. He was taken to heaven
on December 8, 2003 at 7:15am. He weighed 4lb 5oz and was 15 3/4 inches long.

I miss him so much and although he was only with us 11 hours.....
I want to keep his memory alive! I'm constantly thinking of him!

At 20 weeks pregnant our world was turned upside down. We were going to find out the sex of our baby but instead we were told some bad news. Our doctor told us that the baby had little amniotic fluid and this could be because his kidneys weren't functioning or that he didn't have them...a condition called Potter's Syndrome. The following morning we were to have a level two ultrasound to check the baby's organs. Our fears were confirmed...our unborn baby had no kidneys. We were given the option to terminate the pregnancy or to continue. We were told that the baby would not be able to survive outside the womb.
We decided to continue with the pregnancy and pray for a miracle.

God gave us the strength to continue. I was able to enjoy every moment of my pregnancy and we had faith God was going to do a miracle. On Dec. 7th (at 35 weeks pregnant) I went into labor. I had Rafy via c-section that evening. He was so precious! He looked so much like our first born son Alex. We were able to spend 11 beautiful hours with him....which that's a miracle in itself. We were told that he would only live minutes.
At 7:15am of Dec. 8th we said our good-byes and Rafy peacefully went to heaven.

WE DO NOT NEED A SPECIAL DAY
We do not need a special day
To bring you to our minds.

JOY IN HEAVEN
