~ IN LOVING MEMORY OF
NATHAN A. ARTZ ~
10/23/81 - 3/21/97

Baby Nathan.

THIS IS HEATHER'S LITTLE BOY. HIS NAME IS NIKOLAS NATHANIAL MARTIN -- AND HE LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE NATHAN DID ON HIS BABY PICTURE...
WAS HOPING HE WOULDN'T BUT SOME OF FRIENDS HERE IN TOWN NOTICED IT FIRST, AND WHEN YOU PUT NIK'S PICTURE UP AGAINST NATHAN'S BABY PICTURE
IN THE BLUE SLEEPER, THEY LOOK EXACTLY ALIKE...

Below are some more recent pictures of Nik -- he's in first grade now -- turned 6 on August 16th, 2013...2 days before Nathan's Mom's birthday on August 18...

Nik with his 2 pugs.

Nik's school picture.

Nik in football gear -- he played pee wee football this past fall -- still tiny for his age though since he was a premie --
only 2lb 12 oz when born due to his mom's blood pressure shooting up they had to do a C-section.

These 3 wonderful gifts for Nathan are from my dear friend Pammi. Thank you so much!! And a thank you also to Sheri
for thinking to put the frames around Nathan's photos too.

SEASONS

Twenty years of seasons have passed us by
Since the day you left and we said our good-byes.

Time seems so long our hearts still filled with woe
But you are never forgotten, this you must know.

The sun still shines and the rivers flow strong
Time keeps on ticking even though you are gone.

The snowflakes still drift down softly from above,
Coating the frozen ground as white as a dove.

The birds soon fly home and begin to sing,
A cold long winter now breathes a new spring.

The leaves still descend every fall from the trees
Autumn colors swirling around in the breeze.

With each new season another year passed us by
Since God called you to Heaven, his home on high

So we hold on to the memories we treasure so dear
With each changing season as it draws near.

Another season passes, but we know you are near
An angel above us watching over us here.

And with each summer, fall, winter, and spring
We love and we miss you more than anything.

TOGETHER AGAIN SOMEDAY

Nathan -- it has been a long nineteen years since you went away
But it seems like only yesterday in all of our minds
We are thankful for all of the memories -- They are here to stay
But somehow, somewhere we ran out of time with you!

You were always in a hurry -- you kept going and going
Just like the "energizer bunny!"
You loved life itself and especially people --
You loved to play jokes on them -
Just to be funny !

I miss all your teasing and arguing too
There is nothing that I wouldn't do for you
Mom -- Hurry papers are here
And after they are finished I need to go there --

Where now?? Ace .. The Field .. The store .. or just home
This time it is home, because I need to "surf the net", check my email
and call some friends on the phone

Heather -- pick me up a soda on your way home
Heb -- I need to go to cut pappy's grass
Hey Heb -- how about taking me bowling this Friday Night
"I'll buy your gas!"

Okay dad -- it is Sunday -- Today is flying day!!!
So come on -- Let's go!! -- Hurry !!!
I already loaded the van
We are taking four planes today
You are gonna fly one today and don't you dare say NO!!!

Nathan, you touched so many people in those fifteen short years
And you accomplished much more than many people will in their entire lifetime
We have been shedding eight years worth's of tears upon tears
Just wondering why this had to happen --- Life is so unkind!!

We have all kinds of memories -- and others do too---
Your friends, the doctors, your flying buddies,
and even the teachers and staff at the school!
Your death was a shock to everyone you see ---
Oh, why did this have to happen to thee??

Everywhere we look we see you
Your smiling face is everywhere
Your room remains unchanged
Your scent lingers on there
Your dog, your trophies, your drawings, your planes
Everything is still the same!!

People tell us "you need to move on"
But they dont' tell us how!!
"Life must continue", they say
But it seems harder, not easier with each passing day!

That is easy for them to say
They have never lost a child
What is our purpose now?
We have a huge hole in our hearts and our lives
One which will NEVER mend --- especially not overnight

We lost you Nathan --- a great son, brother, and friend
Oh why did this have to happen, especially to you??
Why did your life have to end??

You loved life so much -- you tried so hard to be strong
All those years you were so brave and daring
Getting the most from each day and always caring

Sure you got into trouble
As most boys do ...
But we hope you know
How much we loved you!!

It is hard to believe that we will never again be awaken at 2 am
By you saying
"Hurry ... up to my room ... Come see the huge snowflakes
No school tomorrow!!!"

I hope you are flying your planes everyday
We just can't stop missing you
Each day gets harder as time goes on
They say it gets easier
But they are so wrong!!!

Your memories are alive all over the house,
the town, and in everyone's hearts
The memories will stay -- they will never part

No one will forget you because
you left a huge impact on everyone you met
in your short life
And I will continue to love you and miss you

Time is marching on.... It's more than sixteen years today
But in our hearts Nathan you are so much alive
Even though you are not with us...
We know that you are looking down on us

This was not suppose to happen this way
We miss all the great times we were yet to have
Come on ---- Stinger still wants to play
But we know we will all be
TOGETHER AGAIN SOMEDAY !!

Love MOM

FRIENDS IN GRIEF

Friends in grief is what we are,
We are so many, we stretch near and far,
But all here have a common thread...
"Your child must come home," God said.

We all know the anger and the pain,
The loneliness and grief we must sustain.
We live daily with this shattered heart,
Broken, bleeding and torn apart.

We send each other words of love,
Encouraging quotes from God above.
What we need is some measure of relief,
What we are is "Friends in Grief."

We help each other, we cry, we share,
We let each other know we care.
We try to offer a bit of relief,
For what we are is "Friends in Grief.

LIGHT A CANDLE

And I will light a candle for you
to shadow all the darkness and bless the times we knew
Like a beacon in the night the flame will burn bright
and guide us on our way
Oh today I light a candle for you.

Seasons come and go and I'm weary from the change
Keep on moving on -- you know it's not the same
And when I'm walking all alone
Do you hear me call your name?
Do you hear me sing the songs we used to sing?

And I will light a candle for you...

You filled my life with wonder -- touched me with surprise
Always saw that something special deep within your eyes
And through the good times and the bad
We carried on with pride
I hold on to the love and life we knew

And I will light a candle for you...
Oh today I light a candle for you.

Thank you so much to my dear friend, Linda, Mom to Angel Tina,
for all your help with getting the song, I Will Always Love You, for this page!

Dear Nathan

Such a sweetie of a baby. You started growing up with so much energy, full of life. As usual none stop on the computer, phone, what would we do if they weren't around, but you had baseball,
and you were good at it, but what you couldn't live without were your planes, were you planning on being a pilot one day Nathan, you could have flown me around any time, but without the jokes, which I read you were always doing, playing jokes.
If you fly over my way, please give me a wave, I will for sure wave back.

KEEP FLYING NATHAN

To Rana and ANGEL Nathan

Tell me My ANGEL
If I asked you to
Touch my hands
Would I feel you
Would it be true
If you left your fingerprints
On my skin
Would they stay
Or would it just be a burning memory

Rana have faith in your Heart
MY LOVE TO YOU RANA
