Melanie's Story

Melanie Danae Chavez left us on May 29, 2007. She was our third girl. I knew that Melanie was not moving as much has she usually had. I went to the ER on Wednesday, May 23. I was checked and they monitored her hearbeat, my feet had been swollen, they were huge. I was there for about 2 hours, but my doctor never came in. They called him, and he told them to let me go home and keep my feet elevated. So we did, and I went to see my Dr. on Friday. Melanie's heartbeat was 177. I asked the dr. if that was high, he said no, she was probably just moving alot. I told him she had not been moving much. He told me that she is just getting bigger and there is not much room to move. So we trusted him and went home. On Tuesday, May 29th, our world came crushing down. My mom took me to the ER because I could not feel Melanie move, I told my husband that I would be ok there, they were just going to check us and send us home. We got to the hospital, they hooked me up, but they could not find a heartbeat. So they called for an ultrasound stat. The operator comes in and checks, and they told me that there was no fetal movement. We called my family, they all got there from St. Johns. We are in Sholow before my dr even comes in to see me. Melanie Danae Chavez weighed 6lbs 5oz, was 17 inches long, she looked like she was asleep. She was still real pink. She had tons of hair, jet black. She looked a lot like her daddy.

I just want everyone to know about our baby girl. She is missed too much. She has two other sisters,
Alexia Lanae turned 6 in February, and Jocelyn Rae turned 2 in December.

Melanie's sisters, Jocelyn and Alexia.

My name is Monica, and her Daddy is Johnny. there is not a day that we miss her, think about her
and just want her home with us. We will never understand why.

This is a beautiful and loving gift for Angel Melanie from my dear friend, Carol, mom to Angel Michael.

This special Valentine's Day gift for Angel Melanie is from my friend Marie.

"We never had the chance to play, to laugh, to rock, to wiggle.
We long to hold you, touch you now and listen to you giggle.
I'll always be your mother. He'll always be your dad.
You will always be our child, the child we never had.

But now you're gone.. but yet you're here.
We'll sense you everywhere.
You are our sorrow and our joy. There's love in every tear.
Just know our love goes deep and strong. We'll forget you never.
The child we had, but never had, and yet will have forever."

Stillborn, I am not sure I understand.
Is it a babe who is born
In the hush of a morning's breath
Before the birds begin to sing?
No. This is not stillborn, though We would like it to be.
Is it a babe who is born so quiet,
So still, that the angels hush
Their rustling wings to hear
If she will not draw a tiny breath?
Perhaps. This is very close, but surely, it means more.
Born, still in the arms of God.
Born, still in the full knowledge of God's love and power,
His glory and grace.
Born, still to us, but alive to God!
Surely this is stillborn:
No death, but life eternal,
No sorrow, but everlasting peace,
No separation, but communion forever

With God! Yes, now I understand,

The Master Gardener
By Helen Rice Steiner

The Master Gardener From Heaven above,
Planted a seed In the garden of love.
And from it there grew A rosebud small,
That never had time To open at all.

For God in His perfect And all-wise way,
Chose this rose For his heavenly bouquet.
And great was the joy Of this tiny rose,
To be the one our Father chose.

To leave Earth's garden For One on high,
Where roses bloom always And never die...
So, while you can't see Your precious rose bloom,
You know The Great Gardener, From the "Upper Room"
Is watching and tending This wee rose with care,
Tenderly touching Each petal so fair...

So think of your Darling With the Angels above,
Secure and contented And surrounded by love,
And remember God blessed And enriched your lives, too,
For in dying, your Darling Brought Heaven closer to you!

Dear Monica and Johnny
My heart truly goes out to you
I am leaving you this little poem
I hope it comforts you in some small way.

To You and Your ANGEL Melanie

The pain I feel
It is always a tug
I have to believe it's you
Giving me that special hug

Yes Mom it is me believe it
Giving you that special touch
Although you can't see or hear me
I want you to know I still love you VERY MUCH

And when GOD calls you home
Again Mom we will be together
I can't wait, I know you can't
Then and only then it will be FOREVER
