From Your Cousin Claudia

Cousin Claudia giving Laura a piggy back ride - They were so silly and had so much fun in the short years they had together.

These two photos are of Laura and her cousin Claudia at around age 18.

Fourteen years ago today our hearts were ripped part, in my mind it was a nightmare but then oh then the reality hit when I would go to pick up the phone to make plans with you.
Oh then I knew it was bitterly true. My cousin my rock my best friend was gone, why do I have to go on?
The anger the hate and confusion of why you were taken so soon. My world was closing in I could breath nor feel, my soul was gone I am a shell just going through the motions of life.
What is life now that you are gone? The sun is dim the stars are no longer bright every day was a and is a fight
I have no strength to carry on, However the love of family and happy thoughts of you remind me to fight through because that is what you would have wanted me to do.
Laura, each year that passes I see you in your beautiful children and as promised I try to keep your memory alive.
I know you are looking down upon us all with a beautiful smile and beaming with pride on Julianne's determination of making you proud by going to college
and see Michael's love of the lord and church youth group. I talk to you everyday and wish you never went away
but here I must stay with a broken heart that will never mend until we meet again.
With all my love,

Laura and Claudia their usual silly selves as always doing anything for a laugh. Laura's humor and Claudia's combined was a treasure and left the sweetest memories.

Laura and Claudia with all their friends having a great time.

Laura and her cousin Claudia shared so much and had such a close friendship and bond with one another.
They spent a lot of time together and always stayed close to each other, even though they had different friends, they always found time for each other.
When Laura was in the hospital and we knew there wasn't much time left, Claudia never wanted to leave her
and she spent much time there with her cousin. She took her passing very hard
and to this day never forgets her and goes to visit her memorial throughout the year on holidays
and days of remembrance.

Goodbye My Friend
Written by Karla Bonoff, Performed by Linda Ronstadt

Oh we never know where life will take us
I know it's just a ride on the wheel
And we never know when death will shake us
And we wonder how it will feel

So goodbye my friend
I know I'll never see you again
But the time together through all the years
Will take away these tears
It's okay now
Goodbye my friend

I've seen a lot things that make me crazy
And I guess I held on to you
We could've run away and left well maybe
But it wasn't time and we both knew

So goodbye my friend
I know I'll never see you again
But the love you gave me through all the years
Will take away these tears
I'm okay now
Goodbye my friend

Life's so fragile and love's so pure
We can't hold on but we try
We watch how quickly it disappears
And we never know why
But I'm okay now
Goodbye my friend
You can go now
Goodbye my friend

Look at my Laura at around age 10 years old. She and her cousin Claudia how happy the two of them were, first cousins.

Claudia with her baby Christian at 2 months old. Laura was Claudia's coach during the birth. A further bond made for the two cousins. A bond that will last a lifetime.

That's Laura with Christian, Claudia's boy who is now 23. She was Claudia's coach, since Claudia was alone, and she wanted her cousin Laura with her.
Those two were so close, and is it any wonder through this experience alone among other things they shared.

Claudia with Papa Angelo who Laura has gone to join in heaven. Papa loved all his girls, Laura, Chrissie and Claudia and his one boy Stephen. All his beloved grandchildren.

This is Little Nana who is now almost 98 years old. How she loved all her grandchildren too who she now can barely remember.
Her grandchildren were her life. She will be so missed when it's time for her to go.

Cousin Chrissie, Laura's other cousin who is Claudia's sister. All the cousins were so close.

The Last Farewell
Performed by Roger Whittaker

There's a ship lies rigged and ready in the harbour
Tomorrow for old England she sails
Far away from your land of endless sunshine
To my land full of rainy skies and gales
And I shall be aboard that ship tomorrow
Though my heart is full of tears at this farewell

For you are beautiful
And I have loved you dearly
More dearly than the spoken word can tell
For you are beautiful
And I have loved you dearly
More dearly than the spoken word can tell

I heard there's a wicked war a blazing
And the taste of war I know so very well
Even now I see the foreign flag a raising
Their guns on fire as we sail into hell
I have no fear of death; it brings no sorrow
But how bitter will be this last farewell

For you are beautiful
And I have loved you dearly
More dearly than the spoken word can tell
For you are beautiful
And I have loved you dearly
More dearly than the spoken word can tell

Though death and darkness gather all about me
And my ship be torn apart upon the seas I shall smell again the fragrance of these islands
In the heaving waves that brought me once to thee
And should I return safe home again to England
I shall watch the English mist roll through the dell

For you are beautiful
And I have loved you dearly
More dearly than the spoken word can tell
For you are beautiful
And I have loved you dearly
More dearly than the spoken word can tell

These two photos below are from Julianne's second birthday party, and the cousins were always there. When it came to the kids, the three cousins did so much together,
birthday parties and all the events that kids did when they were little. What a fun day Julianne's party was.
I still remember it. The joy in my heart that day. What sweet memories.

In this photo, cousin Claudia is holding Julianne at 2 years old at her birthday party.

In this one, Cousin Claudia and Chrissie are posing with all the kids at the party. In the picture, the boy at the back toward the right in the dark blue shirt is Claudia's boy Christian, now 22 years old.
The other child who is on Claudia's lap must be little Samantha, who is Chrissie's little girl.
Laura's son Michael and Chrissie's daughter Alyssa were not born yet.The others in this photo are all various cousins and children of various friends.

Below are some photos that I have never seen before. My son Stephen shared these with me.

There is my baby, my Laura, she was just six years old here. She's the one in the little red shorts with white sandals.
Cousin Claudia has red shorts too, and she is standing next to Laura in this picture.

Laura and Claudia are standing next to each other in the front of this picture.

There's my son in this picture sitting right behind Laura. He was 9.

Laura is sitting on the far right in the front in this picture.

In this picture there I am too, so young, with my two little ones. I'm sitting in the back on the left side with Laura and Steve behind me. What memories these pictures brought.
