Some people come

into our lives

and stay a while

leaving footprints

on our hearts

and we are never

ever the same

Kyle & Jenny,
The Love of His Life

Daddy and Nick
I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took God's hand when I heard the call;
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found that place at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss.
Ah yes, these things, I too, will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief;
don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me-
God wanted me now, God set me free.

The strongest man that ever lived
Never lifted weights or fought
But, he rose to the challenge, day after day
With a smile and a courage-filled heart

The bravest man that ever lived
Never sought out personal gain
But, he cried inside, as he laughed and smiled
To keep others from feeling the pain

The wisest man that ever lived
Never got his Ph.D
But, he understood people and life
In a way that most scholars would fail to see

The richest man that ever lived
Never counted his treasures in gold
His family and friends filled his need for such things
He just wanted someone he could hold

The best friend that ever lived
Never felt the need to give out elaborate gifts
But, he'd give you the shirt off his back with a smile
And, the most reassuring words from his lips.

The greatest man that ever lived
may have never made the history pages
But, his courage and memory will live on forever
Those who loved him will pass it through the ages.

I had the privilege of knowing all of these men
when I met my one true love
And, he taught me more than I ever imagined
He was surely sent from above

I miss him Lord, now that you've taken him back
But, I'll try to understand
Just, please take good care of him, and keep him safe
And, let me feel his presence, if you can.

And, my dear, if you hear me
Please know that I love you with all my heart and soul
I'm sorry for the time that I didn't do enough
So little time; I just didn't know

Please watch our son
And, help me know how to teach him right
We'll miss your warmth and loving concern
Please be our guiding light

And one last thing I ask of you
Before I drift to sleep
Please meet me there, when I come home
To spend eternity.

There are not words to describe the emptiness Kyle, as well as his siblings, have left in our home. How we long to hear his voice, to feel his long arms wrap around us for one more hug. He was bright, and had a quick wit about him. He made everyone around him feel comfortable and welcome. His smile warmed your heart. We miss him with all our heart and soul. The depth of this loss cannot be described. Nor can it be be felt by anyone who has not walked this desolate road.

This wonderful gift for Kyle is from my friend Janet.

I just had to share with Kyle about his little boy graduating,
so I made up this (in the above 2 pictures) and put it on his stone.
