Joshua Lynn Wade my oldest son was born May 24, 1981 and died March 6, 1995 in a horse riding accident, he was 13 at the time of his death. Jamie Wade Amerson was my youngest child, he was born May 10, 1989 and was killed on Dec. 15, 2003 in a car accident along with his sister, my middle child. Jessie Anne Amerson was born Jan. 11, 1988 and was killed on Dec. 15, 2003. Along with them, Jessie's boyfriend Clay was killed. They were hit by a man I have known all my life, a good man, who has suffered greatly since their deaths also. We are not angry with Mr. Smith, he would never have done anything to harm a child. Above is a picture of the roadside memorial erected on Dec. 15, 2003 by school mates and family friends at the site of the accident on State Hwy 87 and 126. Jessie, Jamie and Clay were fatalities number 8, 9 and 10 since this intersection was opened. In the background is the construction site of the new Bleckley County High School. This intersection is known as the deadliest in our county.
