In Loving Memory of
Aidan Catherine Hegseth Grew
April 25, 2001 - August 14, 2003

A shadow of joy flickered; it is me.
I told you I wouldn't leave.
My spirit is with you.
My memories, my thoughts are
imbedded deep in your heart.
I still love you.

Do not for one moment think
that you have been abandoned.
I am in the Light.
In the corner, in the hall, the car, the yard --
these are the places I stay with you.

My spirit rises every time you pray for me,
but my energy comes closer to you.
Love does not diminish, it grows stronger.

I am the feather that finds you in the yard,
the dimmed light that grows brighter in your mind,

I place our memories for you to see.
We lived in our special way,
a way that now has its focus changed.

I still crave your understanding and
long for the many words of prayer
and good fortune for my soul.
I am in the Light.

As you struggle to adjust without me,
I watch silently.
Sometimes I summon up all the strength of my new world
to make you notice me.
Impressed by your grief,
I try to impress my love
deeper into your consciousness.

As you should,
call out to the Heavens for help.
You should know that the fountain of youth does exist.

My soul is now healthy.
Your love sends me new found energy.
I am adjusting to this new world.
I am with you and I am in the Light.

Please don't feel bad that you can't see me.
I am with you wherever you go.
I protect you,
just as you protected me so many times.

Talk to me and somehow I will find a way
to answer you.
I see you with my new eyes.
I am learning to help wherever you are,
where ever I am needed.
This can be done because I am in the Light.

When you feel despair, reach out to me.
I will come.

My love for you truly does
transcend from Heaven to Earth.
Finish your life with the enthusiasm and zest
that you had when we were together in the physical sense.
You owe this to me, but more importantly,
you owe it to yourself.

Life continues for both of us.
I am with you because I love you
and I am in the Light...

We do not need a special day
To bring you to our minds.
The days we do not think of you
Are very hard to find.

Each morning when we awake,
We know that you are gone.
And no one knows the heart ache
As we try to carry on.

Our hearts still ache with sadness
And secret tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you
No one will ever know.

Our thoughts are always with you,
Your place no one can fill.
In life we loved you dearly;
In death we love you still.

There will always be a heartache,
And often a silent tear.
But always a precious memory
Of the days when you were here.

If tears could make a staircase,
And heartaches make a lane,
We'd walk the path to heaven
And bring you home again.

We hold you close within our hearts;
And there you will remain,
To walk with us throughout our lives
Until we meet again.

Our family chain is broken now,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

What Is a Daughter?
A daughter is a rainbow bubble
a star glimmering in the sky
a rosebud after a storm
a caterpillar turning into a butterfly

A daughter is hair flying in the wind
red cheeks that glisten in the sunshine
big daydream eyes

A daughter is a wonder
a sweetness, a secret, an artist
a perception, a delight

A daughter is everything beautiful
A daughter is love

A Memorial to My Son Jay

Remembering A Sweet Little Angel

Dear Sweet Aidan

Your baby pictures, when you were wrapped up all in yellow, soooo cute, lying on your daddys shoulder. Then your brother Malcom, and your sister Morgan, they took turns in holding you, they will always have precious memories of you. As you got a little older, there was one of you in your high chair, and the mess, I have always loved those kind of pictures. You were around two, you were in your bathing suit, and a sun hat, what a doll.
The movie Lilo and Stitch, Monster Inc, I loved those too Aidan. Teletubbies, Big Red Clifford. As old as I am Aidan, I still love all those guys, we would have had fun playing together, maybe one day again we will.

Dearest ANGEL Aidan and Family

If we reached our hands out
Would you touch them back
Would we feel you our ANGEL
Or would we be dreaming
If we did feel you touch us
Would that feeling last
Or would that be a dream too

Mommy, Daddy, No you won't feel me
Like you use to
But I am around you all
I have never left and never will

I can't wait for you to arrive
For me to show you all my new ANGEL FRIENDS
What we all do and play

Especially my new room
It has a window
Look up Mommy and Daddy
One of those stars are my window's
You see I am with you still
